The company’s flagship projects in Argentina are in the “Lithium Triangle,” where approximately half of global lithium reserves reside. By adding value with innovations and best practices to optimize the complex system of brine lithium production, we have grown into the largest exporter of Argentine lithium.

Direct lithium 
extraction at scale

Our scale-up and roll-out of DLE (Direct Lithium Extraction) in both our projects means faster extraction, higher recovery rates, lower water requirements, and higher-purity lithium to be used directly in battery manufacturing. With the development of a 5,000 tonne demonstration plant, this approach is expected to validate higher lithium recoveries, reduce fresh water and reagent use, and lower the overall project pond footprint by one third. It also offers lower capital intensity and slightly improved operating costs compared to conventional methods. This demonstration is a critical step in our growth strategy, with the goal of incorporating DLE into Stage 2 at Cauchari-Olaroz and across our regional development plan in Salta.

Our scientific approach to exploration and extraction combines volcanology and geological mapping with geochronology and geochemical analyses of marker bed samples to reduce pre-operations drilling work and ensures efficient and stable production of highly concentrated lithium brine to our evaporation ponds.

Technology that scales with impact

We’re one of the first in South America piloting solvent-extraction-based DLE at commercial scale. Integrated with existing infrastructure, this approach is expected to increase lithium recovery, lower water and reagent use, and reduce the pond footprint. The result: higher-purity lithium and a more capital-efficient process to support long-term growth.
